Review: Best vacuum in the world | Miele C3 Limited Edition

3 Mins read

What is the best brand of vacuum cleaners out there?  My personal favorite based on a lot of real world use is Miele. A lot of people talk a lot about Dyson but in my view nothing is better than a canister-style Miele. They are a proven tried and true design that kicks ass for apartments and large houses alike. But my overall favorite, and the favorite of many vacuum nuts out there, is the Miele C3 Limited Edition. This vacuum is not only a workhorse, but it’s backed by a company that actually stands by their product with a good warranty. This is why this is our top pick for the best vacuum in the world right now. All of these comments apply to the upgraded Miele C3 Complete Limited Edition as well. Also, the Miele C3 Brilliant is a currently discontinued model of the C3 Complete. We recommend the C3 Limited Edition of that model anyway due to its better support from Miele since it is produced in larger numbers.

Pros

  • Excellent 36 foot operating radius
  • Powerful turbo brush that works well on carpet and hard floors thanks to the hard floor tool
  • Very quiet for the power that it is pumping out
  • All of the attachments are stowed away in the included compartment (some of the cheaper models do not do this)
  • Easy to use foot controls instead of the cumbersome dials from previous models
  • Includes 6 speed settings

Cons

  • No Hepa filter (but this can be added by simply buying a Hepa filtered bag at a later date)
  • Could be a bit heavy for large houses depending on the number of stairs

I previously owned a Miele S2 which I really liked. It got the job done but had two main issues with it. It had a relatively short radius of operation and the tools didn’t have an enclosed stow-away chamber on the unit. So when I was looking at buying a new model I searched for something that wouldn’t break the bank but would also satisfy these slight issues. I landed on the Miele C3 Limited Edition for a couple reasons:  1. It is incredibly well reviewed on Amazon, 2. It has an upgraded outer design that keeps the whole unit enclosed.

After using the C3 for about 4 months now I can safely say that it was a great purchase. It is about as loud as the old S2, which is to say that it is pretty quiet in comparison to some other popular brands like Dyson. My test for this is to see if my cat freaks out when I’m using it. She doesn’t. The power that this thing pumps out is incredible. Sometimes I find myself straining a little a bit when pushing it across my carpet. This is indeed a good thing as I know it is doing a good job picking up the rogue cookie crumbs from the past week…

The Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog is basically an upagraded version of the C3 Complete that is focused heavily on pet hair and fur removal. It comes with a really handy motorized mini-head that is awesome at removing pet hair. Consider this version if you have shedding pets.

The extra length on the cord is really nice. My previous vacuum couldn’t quite reach across the main room of my apartment so I had to unplugged and re-plug it in across the room. The C3 easily covers the whole area.

The Turbo Comfort floor brush works really well. I have both hard-wood flooring and small rugs and it works very well on both thanks to the design on the brush where you can flip up the air vents. The 6 speed selector is nice but I tend to just run it at full speed all of the time. But it’s nice to know that I have that option if I need it later. The wand is an upgrade from my previous model since it has a great telescopic mode. I use it to clean the top of my roll down blind mechanism from time to time as well as the light fixtures in my apartment that are dust attractors.

I absolutely love that the Miele C3 Limited Edition has a stow away compartment for the include tools. I used to find that the tools on the S2 would fall off when in storage. No more. And the tools themselves (a dusting brush, upholstery brush and crevice tool) work just as well as you’d expect from a Miele.

The design is great looking (unlike some of those alien like designs from Dyson) but of course design is not as important as how well it does the job. And in the case of the Meile C3 Limited Edition it passes with flying colors. I don’t think there is another vacuum available that combines awesome features with a great price and solid warranty. Highly recommended if you are in the market for a solid and reliable “buy it for life” vacuum cleaner that you’ll have for decades.
