A good folding knife is something that everyone should have. Whether it is for just breaking down boxes or to have on hand for an emergency. And I think I have finally found the absolute best lightweight EDC folding knife on the market.
Over the years I have really loved carrying things like the Spyderco Delica 4, but recently I absolutely fell in love with the Benchmade Bugout. This is what I call an EDC knife! The S30V steel is really great and holds an edge very well. But it is also fairly easy to sharpen in the field which is a big plus for a knife that you will be using all the time. The grivory handles are textured nicely and are super lightweight. At first, you wonder how stable the knife will be with these scales, but in long-term use, they have held up excellently.
As always with Benchmade, the knife comes hair-splittingly sharp out of the box and is very well balanced with no weighting to one side or the other. The axis lock system on the Bugout is awesome. It allows you to quickly deploy the knife with the thumb piece and you will find yourself playing with this mechanism quite a bit when you are bored. Overall, the action on the flip and the security of the axis lock is top-notch.
If you are on the lookout for a very good premium lightweight EDC folding knife, the Benchmade Bugout is one to consider.
