Winter is coming… Again… If you’re in the market for a new winter coat that will last then look no further than the Fjallraven Men’s Expedition Down Parka No. 1 Jacket. This parka is just what the doctor ordered for those of you living in less than hospitable climates. In the Northern US or Canada this parka will do a great job of keeping you nice and snug even in a blizzard. It’s made of durable G-1000 grade polyester and cotton and features some of the best stitching on a parka of this type. It is also long cut so it keeps wind and snow from entering from below the coat and also contributes to keeping your core warm. The styling has hints of classic 1970’s and 1980’s winter coats which is a good thing. It is a simple but admittedly classic look. Fjallraven is known for their attention to detail and uncompromising quality. This parka is both warm but also is made in a way that you will have this for decades. It is truly a buy it for life BIFL winter parka.
There is also a women’s version of this parka. This one has a slightly different design that ditches the men’s oversized buttons for a more feminine touch. But don’t let that make you think this women’s parka is any less durable or warm. It uses the same super durable G-1000 polyester and cotton construction coupled with very warm lining inside.
Both the men’s and women’s parka use ethically sourced down for insulation so you don’t have to worry about any less than ethical treatment of animals (cough cough… that OTHER parka company can’t say so much).
Overall, this is one of our favorite winter parkas for both men and women.
