Women’s flip flops. They can be had for $5. But you really get what you pay for here. Too often do women have to choose between style and comfort. And most of the time even expensive footwear for women is poorly made and simply does not last very long. That why we decided to do a list of the top ten best quality durable sandals and flip flops for women. You’ll find a nice mix of sporty and and more casual options below.
First up is one of our favorite BIFl brands around. Teva. The Teva Mush II flip flops are simply awesome. Light, comfortable but really well made. They are incredibly comfortable even for long walks and the fabric strap does not chaffe between the toes or the top of your foot one bit. If sandals are more up your alley, Teva makes their Original Universal Sandal. The hook and loop webbing on these is top notch and, again, it is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
Next up is a classic. Birkenstocks are well-known for both their comfort and their super durable construction. While they used to really only be pretty clunky looking, we love the newer models for women. The Birkenstock Mayari Sandal is a great example of this. They are a bit more modern looking and have more feminine straps to them. But they still have that excellent Birkenstock quality and their footbed will still mold to your feet after you wear them for a while. If you have the budget for them, the Birkenstocks may just be your last pair of sandals. Likewise with the Birkenstock Gizeh Birko-Flor Thong. These again have a very modern look and just generally kick ass.
Rainbow and Chacos are some other really great sandal/flip flop companies. The Rainbow makes their “basic leather sandal” which is just that. It’s basic. But it is about as durable as you will find in the sandal business. Chacos has the sporty side covered. Their EcoTread sandal is perfect for those that spend time on the oceans or do a lot of active lifestyle stuff. Again, simple, but really well made. The Chacos Cordova sandal is a pick for those of you that want something a bit fancier and less sporty. They will outperform almost anything out there in the leather multi-strap category though.
The Havaianas Women’s Slim Sandal Flip Flop are another solid choice if you are on a budget. At just $14, these things are an absolute steal. Reef makes a nice women’s flip flop in their Sandy sandal that has solid treads on the bottom for water sports and outdoor lifestyle. They are a bit more expensive, but still very reasonable for a brand that prides itself on solid, well-constructed and comfortable footwear.
For those of you wanting to do some actual hiking or more hardcore walking consider the Keen Rose Sandal. Keen’s experience in the shoe space crosses over here and results in one of the most bomb-proof sandal models around.
Overall, any of the below sandals and flip flops will be light years ahead of most of the summer footwear out there for women.
